Powerful tool for calculation of HVDC transformer and reactor insulation electrical strength.

  • DCI is a 2D finite element software for transient electric field simulation.
  • Database of main insulation permissible electrical strength is incorporated.
  • DCI software is used for electroquasistatic analysis: induced currents and wave effects are neglected.

Experimental Model of Transformer Bushing
An example of dielectric strength evaluation of transformer bushing experimental model insulation is presented.
In this example lead with capacitive bushing and rubber insulation are placed inside of oil-barrier insulation with electrostatic shield in order to increase the insulation strength.    
Since the geometry possesses  axial symmetry an axisymmetrical model type should be used.
